Diabetes Education

Diabetes Education is offered at MedWest-Haywood, MedWest-Harris and MedWest-Swain.

MedWest-Haywood features a Diabetes Education Center that focuses on helping people avoid many of the consequences of diabetes through a program of diet, exercise and education. The center features specially trained and certified nurses, registered dietitians, counselors, and exercise specialists working with the Center offer support and assistance for managing diabetes.

MedWest-Harris and MedWest Swain also offers:

• Comprehensive diabetes education
• Nutritional counseling
• Blood sugar screening
• Lifestyle management

Services are available on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
