A polysomnogram is used to measure bodily functions, such as brain waves, heart beats, eye movements, muscle tension, leg movements, air flow breathing, and blood oxygen levels. Testing is performed by a registered polysomnographic technologist while the patient is comfortably sleeping. A physician referral is required.
