The Regional Wound Care Clinic at Haywood Regional Medical Center was established to help people with wounds and ostomies to again enjoy life and return to previous activities.

Our team approach involves the cooperation of the physician, physical therapists, nurses, orthotists, dietitians and, most importantly, the patient.

Our health care team works together to develop an individualized treatment plan which may involve simple dressings and antibiotic application or advanced techniques, depending on the severity of the wound.

Patients with diabetes require special care and management to prevent complications. In addition to wound management, we are available to provide education on self-care and management.

Patients undergoing ostomy surgery and appliance fitting receive ongoing assistance as we assess and counsel ostomy patients both pre-operatively and post-operatively.
