Rehabilitation services provides comprehensive services such as:

• Continence rehabilitation

• Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation

Individualized treatment programs are implemented for patients following orthopedic surgeries, work related accidents, and sports injuries. Through physical rehabilitation, patients increase their strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination. Treatments are provided to lessen pain from injury or illness and restore function as soon as possible.

Aquatherapy takes place in the Health and Fitness Center’s swimming and therapy pools. The physical properties of water offer a perfect setting for early mobilization and strength training.

Acute and chronic wounds are treated at the Regional Wound Care Center located on Jones Cove Road. An interdisciplinary team of physicians, physical therapists, and specially trained nurses provides advanced care for wound care patients.

Rehabilitation services are provided at four locations:

• Inpatient/Restorative Care Unit at Haywood Regional Medical Center
• Regional Wound Care Center
• Outpatient services at the Health & Fitness Center
• Blue Ridge Paper Company
