The goal of the Pre-Operative Clinic at Haywood Regional Medical Center is to make your surgical experience at our hospital as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Some of the
processes that we can help with include:

• Expediting admission on the day of surgery
• Explaining what procedures and tests are involved in your surgery
• Relieving your anxiety related to surgery
• Providing one area to obtain your presurgical testing

During your clinic visit, a pre-surgical nurse will gather information regarding your general health, allergies, current medications, and pertinent medical information. Hospital personnel will come to you to obtain your pre-surgery tests. A nurse will review your pre-surgery needs with you and go over the surgery process and key discharge instructions. You may also meet with other health care professionals who will be involved in your care during your hospital stay.

The Pre-Operative Clinic is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located on the second floor of the hospital. Parking is available in the back parking lot of the hospital. For more information, or to schedule an appointment with the Pre-Operative Clinic, please call 452-8824.
