Fit Kidz: Programs

The goal of the Haywood Regional Health & Fitness Center is to promote healthy lifestyles through various types of activity so that participants may enjoy the benefits of cardiovascular and strength conditioning through safe and effective programs for all levels and ages of fitness.

Gymnastics:
Ages 6-16 can learn the fine art of gymnastics. Class includes tumbling, balance beam, vaulting, and bars. Levels are mixed in the class, unless otherwise specified by the instructor. Member & Nonmember monthly registration for this program at the front desk.

Kids in Training:
Physician referred, supervised, structured, program beneficial for children ages 6-13 who seek professional guidance and education to increase their physical activity and improve food choices in order to slow or halt adolescent weight struggles. Kidz Korner:
Designed for both parent and child 0-3 years of age to work, play and interact together and also with others. Members, if your child is under 4years of age you can sign them as a member for FREE. Paperwork required! Non-family member or nonmember fee $20.00; +$2.00/additional child. Register at the front desk. [50k pdf]

Kidzercise:
Age appropriate activities of all kinds make this class a fun way to get kids 4-7 years of age moving. Non-family member or nonmember fee $20.00; +$2.00/additional child. Register at the front desk. [49k pdf]

Open Climb:
Great time for parents and children to get on the climbing wall together. The Gymnasium will be unsupervised during this time. Parents please stay close to your children and keep safety in mind at all times. Thank You! [28k pdf]

Youth Fitness:
Youth ages 7-13 are supervised on the equipment available in the Cardiac Rehab department. Class will also utilize the gymnasium from time to time for additional recreational activities. Non-family member or nonmember fee $20.00; +$2.00/additional child. Register at the front desk. [57k pdf]

Locker Rooms:
Participants must be 14 years or older for Sauna and Steam usage.

Aquatics Area:
Participants must be 8 years or older to be in the pool area without parent/guardian and must have basic swim skills. Please check the Aquatics schedule for open swim times. There is no open swim while scheduled classes are in session. Must be 14 years or older to utilize the Therapy pool and the Lap lanes.

Gymnasium:
Any time the gymnasium does not have a scheduled program, youth may check out a basketball or other equipment for usage. Non-marking tennis shoes must be worn.

Racquetball Courts:
Reservations are made at the front desk and will ensure court availability. Must be 12 years or older unless accompanied by an adult.

2nd Floor Exercise Areas:
Must be 12 years or older to utilize the track. Track runners on the outside, walkers to the inside. Track users have the right-a-way. Participants must be 14 years or older to utilize strength and cardiovascular equipment.

Youth program offerings are based on participateion and at times are seasonal. Programs are evaluated every 8 weeks.
