HRMC Triathlon Results

The first-ever Haymed.org Triathlon — which was held Saturday, March 29 — attracted more than 70 participants for the event, which included a 300-yard pool swim, an 11.4-mile bicycle ride and a three-mile run.

The swim was held in the Haywood Regional Health & Fitness Center pool. The bike ride was a loop which began and ended at the hospital, via Old Clyde Road and Hyder Mountain Road and along N.C. 209.

The run began and ended at the fitness center and followed Jones Cove Road to Hospital Drive.

The overall winner was Rob Dietz of Indian Trail, with a time of one hour and seven minutes. The top female finisher was Sarah Kraxberger of Fayetteville, with a time of one hour and 13 minutes.
