HRMC to host Spring Into Wellness Health Fair

Haywood Regional Medical Center will host  the annual “Spring Into Wellness Health Fair, ” to be held this year from 7 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at the Haywood Regional Health & Fitness Center gymnasium.

There will be health screenings, informative booth exhibits and door prizes for participants. There is no cost (with the exception of a $20 fee for a cholesterol screening).

Screenings that will be available include:
•Blood pressure screening
•Blood sugar screening
•Hearing assessment
•Osteoporosis screening
•Vision screening
•Cancer risk assessment
•Body mass index
•Cholesterol screening. Fasting for 12 hours prior to the screening will produce better results. Results will be mailed within two weeks.

Other booths will offer hands-on activities and educational materials. Among the participants will be rehabilitation services, Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, Haywood Community Connections, and Interventional Pain Services.

There will be information on nutrition, water safety, pain management, skin scope, cancer, childbirth and newborns, mental health, domestic violence, hearing loss, aging, Alzheimer’s and dance.
