Michelle DeVille named as HRMC Employee of the Month
Registered Nurse, Michelle DeVille was chosen as Employee of the Month for July 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was selected based upon numerous patient and family nominations regarding her exceptional nursing care and kindness.
“Considering how busy ICU has been recently, it’s nice to feel so appreciated,” Michelle, a registered nurse for more than 18 years, said. “Each person in our department provides their own special care and experience in dealing with very sick patients and their families.”
Employed with HRMC since April 2003, DeVille is responsible for providing direct patient care to critically ill patients. Her job also involves training students or new staff that rotate through the intensive care unit. I also serve on several committees in the hospital that require nursing input for improving patient care.
She said that she feels the best thing about her job is seeing patients reclaim health after being very ill in the ICU. “HRMC gets some very sick patients that are quite challenging,” she noted. “But a community hospital like HRMC creates a better atmosphere for the critical patients and their loved ones.”
Originally from Charlotte, NC Michelle graduated with an associates degree in Nursing in 1989 from Central Piedmont Community College. She received her B.S. degree in 1994 from U.N.C. Charlotte.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys being outdoors, spending time with friends and working on her new home.
