HRMC Foundation 16th Annual Golf & Gala Results
Thanks to one hundred sixty one sponsors and 382 golfers this year’s 16th annual Charitable Classic Golf & Gala raised an estimated $110,000 according to Marge Stiles, assistant to the director of the HRMC Foundation. This was the best year to date for the golf fund-raising event, which was held Sept. 4 and 5 at Waynesville and Laurel Ridge Country Clubs. Lead sponsor for the event was Phyllis Prevost.
Proceeds from this year’s gala will go toward the Foundation’s Endowment Fund, as well as the HRMC’s capital projects which include the Hospice End-of-Life Care Center and the Surgery Center & Outpatient Services project. Co-chairs for the 2007 golf and gala were Judy and Beuford Shirley.
“On behalf of the Foundation Board we want to thank everyone from annual fund contributors, event sponsors and golfers to the many volunteers who helped to make this event a success. Of all the people to thank, this year’s event co-chairs, Judy and Beuford Shirley were over-the-top in their dedication and energy,” said Robin Tindall-Taylor, director of HRMC’s Foundation and Corporate Communications Departments. We humbly appreciate this outpouring of community support for our Hospital.”
More than 575 people attended Wednesday night’s gala at Waynesville Country Club. Established in 1978, the foundation is the 501 (c) 3 charitable fund raising entity which exists solely to support
HRMC. Recent projects include providing funding assistance for the Health & Fitness Center, the Emergency Department expansion, nurse scholarships and purchase of a GE VCT 64 slice CT scanner.
