Chenoa Gass Chosen as HRMC Employee of the Month
Registered Nurse Chenoa Gass was chosen as Haywood Regional Medical Center Employee of the Month for February 2007. She was selected for this honor due to her creativity with regards to keeping Alzheimers and dementia patients focused by giving them interesting tasks to do.
Gass, a nurse since 2000, has been working at HRMC since December 2004. “I really enjoy the team aspect of working here,” she said. “I also sincerely enjoy working with the patients.” She says that the best thing about her job is working in such a positive atmosphere and helping her patients feel better day by day so they can eventually go home.
A native of Cherokee, Gass attained her B.S. in Nursing from Western Carolina University. She was also in the Army Reserves for more than nine years. She served as medic and then was commissioned as a nurse working stateside.
She and her husband Andrew, who owns his own excavation business, have been married almost 5 years. The couple has a 16-month-old daughter named Ada. In her spare time, Gass most enjoys spending time with Ada – reading her stories, going for walking and doing other interactive things together.
